Beloved Azurite

Azurite, the beautiful copper carbonate ranges from a medium blue to intense almost midnight blue. Best material comes from Arizona, Utah, and Morocco.

During 1986 while contract mining blue Azurite concretions near La Sal Utah, I discovered a pencil thin seam of gem grade material in an underdeveloped Dakota Sandstone outcrop near by. Using a Michigan Four Yard Loader, I was able to excavate about ten feet into the face when everything simply turned brilliant blue, including me. Gem grade Azurite dust and micro crystals rained down on me from a pocket that would extend over one-hundred feet.

The house I rented near by soon became filled with boxes and crates of Azurite. Any one entering the home was transformed and visually affected from a sensation of sleepiness to an almost hypnotic state that only faded when you left the premises. One thing we a noticed was a profound loss of time and a "waking vision state" with intense colors and audio effects. It was an enlightening experience that I will never forget.
