Feed The Homeless
and feed your soul

The question has alluded a good portion of human kind. Does 5:30 a.m. really exist? After all, if I'm not awake to see it, then I have to question it's reality. Well, it's a reality for the homeless of Fresno. A tour of downtown in the wee hours will find legion of children, men and women walking the streets - having slept in alleys, building hollows or packed into over crowded shelters. Well intentioned local shelters operate hand to mouth at the fringe of offerings by local benefactors and religious groups. But they just don't have enough to go around.

Feed the Homeless and you feed your soul. Each Wednesday morning volunteers set out with money donated every week to purchase a healthy breakfast for as many mouths as your donations can fill. You are more than welcome to participate - directly or indirectly - in this activity. We need volunteers to help distribute meals as well the money to buy the food. Feeding your fellow human is an enriching experience suggested by the respected teacher Grand Master Choa Kok Sui to help us develop faster in our spiritual growth. Fantasy Fiction Writing Competition
Share Your Imagination

Does your imagination run wild? Do you have a magical touch in the word wending way? Readers are invited to send in their short Fantasy Fiction Stories to be read on the internet and voted on by their peers. Submissions will be taken until October 31, 2003 and posted on the web. First Place winner will receive a $50.00 gift certificate to the Brass Unicorn and a complete collection of the Fantasy Art Work of Karen Marie Sweikhardt as featured on the web site. Second and Third place winners will each receive 100 sticks of the Splendor Scents Incense of their choice. Writers of all ages are welcome. Submissions may even be considered for publication in a book of short stories! Here are the rules:

• Stories can be no more than 5 standard pages long (single spaced).
• Submissions should be Fantasy Fiction oriented and suitable for young as well as mature readers.
• Writers may include small 'web friendly' pictures or illustrations to accompany their story.
• You do not need to use your real name if you prefer.
• Entries may be sent in now and will be received up till 12:00 midnight (Pacific Time) October 31, 2003.
• Poll Voting will commence November 1, 2003 and continue until December 1, 2003.
• Winners will be announced December 5, 2003
